Overview
Caring for animal welfare is an essential part of building a more compassionate and sustainable society. Through our Animal Welfare program, we strive to foster a harmonious relationship between people, animals, and the environment through meaningful action, education, and responsible care.
Our initiatives extend beyond rescuing animals in need by raising public awareness of the importance of animal welfare and responsible pet ownership. We advocate for every animal's right to proper nutrition, healthcare, safe shelter, and humane treatment, in line with the internationally recognized Five Freedoms of Animal Welfare, which promote freedom from hunger and thirst, discomfort, pain, fear, and the freedom to express natural behaviors.
More than a rescue initiative, our Animal Welfare program encourages individuals and communities to become part of the solution through education, responsible adoption, sterilization, vaccination, and other outreach activities that promote a safer and more compassionate environment for all living beings. Guided by the One Health, One Welfare approach, we believe that the well-being of people, animals, and the environment is deeply interconnected, and that protecting animal welfare contributes to healthier, more resilient, and more compassionate communities..

Activities
Rumah Steril Bibbo
Located in Meruya, West Jakarta. Rumah steril Bibbo does regular cats and dogs sterilisation as well as Trap Neuter Release (TNR) program in a monthly basis. paisleythingsjakarta and lokalinindonesia together with the official ambassador for animal welfare at Lokal Indonesia Artisan Market and the Darius Tobing Foundation have been supporting Ibu Lily Wijaya of Rumah Steril Bibbo since 2023.
Supporting 15 Animal Shelters in Need
We successfully raised funds to support 15 animal shelters in need! Due to the COVID-19 economy, many shelters were struggling to get regular supplies. Our March donation helped provide food, supplies, and more for these rescues. Here are the 15 shelters we sent our donations to: 1. Rumah Singgah TPP 1.030 dogs/20 cats 2. Shelter Pak Johan 625 dogs/150 cats 3. Shelter Melati 700 dogs/30 cats 4. Natha Satwa Nusantara 100 dogs/250 cats 5. Rumah Shambala 75 dogs/40 cats 6. Rumah ARAC 135 dogs 7. Rainbow Sanctuary Indonesia 130 dogs/30 cats 8. Rumah Tapak Kito 150 dogs/70 cats 9. Rumah Pom2 150 dogs/30 cats 10. Maria Kandang Preman 100 dogs/40 cats 11. Bintaro Rescue 150 dogs/50 cats 12. Omah Chiraro 50 dogs/200 cats 13. Pet at the garage 10 dogs/70 cats 14. Marsela Bruno 80 dogs/50 cats 15. Animal Welfare at Lokal Indonesia Artisan Market
Every animal deserves a life of dignity, care, and compassion. Through our Animal Welfare program, DTobing Foundation supports initiatives that improve the well-being of abandoned and vulnerable animals through rescue, rehabilitation, responsible adoption, sterilization, vaccination, and community education. We believe that lasting change begins with awareness and responsible action. Working alongside local communities, volunteers, and partners, we also bring animal welfare initiatives to public events, including Lokal Indonesia Artisan Market, where adoption campaigns and educational activities inspire more people to become part of the solution. Together, we are creating a future where kindness toward animals is embraced as an essential part of building compassionate and sustainable communities.
