Paisley Things
Ethical Retail & Rural Income
Overview
Paisley Things is the retail arm of The Darius Tobing Foundation, a curated collection of ethical, handcrafted home goods made by rural Indonesian artisans.
We believe that beautiful objects carry stories. The batik on a cushion cover, the warp and weft of a handwoven throw, the grain of a carved wooden bowl, each one represents hours of skill passed down through generations.
By purchasing Paisley Things products, customers don't just acquire something beautiful. They sustain a tradition, support a family, and keep a craft alive.
Objectives
- Provide rural artisans with fair and stable income through ethical trade
- Preserve traditional Indonesian craft techniques for future generations
- Connect Indonesian craftspeople with conscious global consumers
- Build sustainable livelihoods that keep villages economically vibrant
